When you get to a customer service rep tell them you're bringing a phone and want to add its IMEI to their database. Give them the IMEI. Tell them you're going to use the automated menu and end the call. Make sure your NEW PHONE is off. If they’ve been approved for ACP, this will take effect immediately including the first month/initial transaction. Yes ACP takes 1-2 months to kick in, but with a new account port-in Metro gives you the $30 credit immediately, I did this in Feb. But yes, plan on talking to customer care regularly. Add line to your account to get new line price for G Stylus. Wait four days for coupon to expire. Call customer service, ask them to swap your old number to the new phone. Be nice, sweet-talk, they'll do it for free if they like you. Wait four more days. Cancel the old phone that now has the new number on it.
