I would say that mage is the best for fighting the endgame bosses just because of subsuming vortex / void vortex. the issue with ranger on infernum mode is that the bosses stick to you like glue. hence, ranger's main advantage - its range - is nerfed. this is particularly evident post moonlord but in the end, it's your choice.
