Adjust the cable so that it thinks you are pulling on the lever. There are two adjustment points. You might need to use both of them to get the cable tight enough to not need the lever. . It would be fine in 1st,2nd and 3rd but 4th was a real pain and jumped into 5th instead.Also if the engine has been sitting for any length of time you have to run it for 5 minutes, then shut off -- wait 2 - 3 minutes and check. Even if you have just changed the oil, you will need to run the engine. This is because the oil tanks are all above the engine's oil pump. I see the DCT as a non hydraulic automatic, the Rincons have torque converter, the Rubicon Honamatics are hydraulic pumps in reverse. DCT is actually not a new idea, first invented in the 1940's, developed in the 80's for racing, the first to hit the road were 2003 Volkswagens. Honda does still make the Rancher available with the standard manual shift transmission or the ES model.
