I have a Weigand mount on my GP 100 and my .44 mag SBH. Nice light compact mount. Uses the sight screw and you have to D&T 2 6X48 holes in the top strap. Pretty easy to do if you have a drill press. I’m wanting to put a reflex on my GP100 10mm, but some of the info I’m finding indicates the small-footprint, no-tap bases will not hold up to the recoil since there’s only one screw securing it to the frame. By “small footprint” I mean low over the frame and still able to holster, which precludes the Weigand rail.

I’m considering scoping my GP100. Currently, I use my Gp100 as a range and hiking revolver. The scope would mostly be to help my eyes out a bit. Oddly enough, my eyes just aren’t as “eagle-eyed” as they were yesterday. I have never owned a scoped handgun and don’t know where to start. Do I want to use a red-dot or a traditional scope?
